1) Confirm gas supply: tank not empty, tank valve open, regulator/hose connected. 2) Try manual lighting per manual to isolate igniter vs fuel issue. 3) Inspect electrode: clean debris, check wiring and electrode tip alignment and gap (typical gap ~3–5 mm). 4) Clean pilot orifice with a needle/pipe cleaner and blow out with low‑pressure air. 5) Check the tilt/safety switch and that burner head is correctly seated. 6) If pilot lights but won’t stay, test thermocouple output with a DMM (see next question). If these fail, escalate to valve/regulator checks or professional service.
